Shelly began her longstanding career at McDonald’s in 1977. Following a role as Restaurant Manager, Shelly joined the McDonald’s corporate offices in the Midwest region, where she held various positions in Operations, Training, Field Service and Human Resources.
In 2002, Shelly was named Director of Operations for the Midwest Region. From 2004, Shelly held the position of Midwest Vice President of Operations, where she oversaw 690 restaurants. During this time, her region led the United States in customer service scores.
Shelly joined McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited in 2010, where she held the position of Regional Vice President for Western Canada until 2018. She fostered a strong culture of collaboration and execution, leading the region to experience record results.
In January of 2019, Shelly was promoted to her current role of Senior Vice President, Operations. With responsibility for operations across Canada, she continues to apply her passion for operational excellence to run great restaurants from coast to coast. In this role, Shelly also oversees McDonald’s Canada’s technology and digital efforts as well as the fleet of company-owned restaurants primarily located in Western Canada.
Throughout her career with McDonald’s, Shelly has received a number of awards, including the President’s Award and the Team Excellence Award. She is a member of McDonald’s Women’s Leadership Network and is actively involved with Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada.
