McDonald’s® Canada Recognized by Great Place to Work Institute

TORONTO, ON (April 18, 2013) - Great Place to Work® Institute has recognized and awarded McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited as one of the top workplaces of 2013.

McDonald’s ranked No. 14 among the "Top 50 Large & Multinational Companies with More Than 1000 Employees Worldwide" and No. 8 among the Top 25 “Best Workplaces in Canada for Women” for practices that enable the personal and professional advancement of women. The Institute also recognized McDonald’s as one of the Best Workplaces in the Respect dimension. Other dimensions include Credibility, Fairness, Pride and Camaraderie.

“We are honoured to receive recognition for our strong people practices and employee culture,” says Len Jillard, Chief People Officer, McDonald’s Canada.  “In the same way we aim to be our customers’ favourite place and way to eat and drink, when it comes to our employees, our goal is to be their favourite place and way to work.”

Each year, the Institute ranks organizations based on the results of a unique employee survey known as the Trust Index®, which gathers feedback on Canadian companies and provides a detailed measurement of relationships and corporate culture. In 2013, more than 57,000 Canadian employees were surveyed.
